Solveig Rathenow

Head of the economy department at Business Insider Deutschland

Since December 2020, I am running the economy department at Business Insider Deutschland. Together with my team, we bring news and stories to live. Special interest in finance and digital topics.

Previous to Business insider, I was Head of Venture Communications at finleap, a company builder specialized in Fintech, based in Berlin. Since launch in 2014, finleap builds 4 - 6 ventures per year, from a digital insurance broker to a techplatform with bank licence.

Before stepping into communications, I was a journalist, graduating from the Axel Springer Akademie. After two years of studying, including 6 months editing of WELT Kompakt and workshops at Columbia University, NY, I became journalist, writer, researcher at BILD, Europe's largest newspaper.

After four years at BILD, I became free correspondent for East Africa, based in Tanzania. I wrote mostly for DIE WELT, BILD.de, Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft and as a Blogger for The New Africa.

I am holding a Double Diploma Bachelor/Licence from Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and Université de la Sorbonne, Paris.
