What is the mission of your start-up and how are you committed to it?
At sylby, our mission is to break down communication barriers and build the confidence of migrants and language learners when communicating in a foreign language. We revolutionize language learning by merging AI and linguistics, with a specific focus on an often-overlooked aspect: pronunciation and effective communication. Our self-developed AI speech recognition technology provides real-time feedback on users' pronunciation, helping them enhance their language skills efficiently and without fear of judgment. Through sylby, we're not just improving language abilities; we're boosting confidence and enabling meaningful engagement within new communities.
This mission is deeply personal to me. Having faced similar challenges as a migrant, I understand the hurdles and victories that come with adapting to a new environment. My journey fuels my dedication to making a difference. I believe that with continued support, we can empower individuals to find their voices and embrace new opportunities. sylby is not just a startup; it's a movement to create a more inclusive world.
What has been your most important learning so far when starting your business?
Make real and meaningful connections with fellow founders and players in the start-up scene.
What role did Grace play in your founding journey ?
Grace played a significant role in my journey as a founder. They showed me the importance of embracing the founder mindset and always staying resilient. I learned that building a startup isn't just about speed; it's about endurance—it's a marathon, not a sprint.
Participating in the Grace - Accelerate Female Entrepreneurship summer accelerator was a game-changer for me. Surrounded by other female founders and the supportive Grace team, I felt inspired to keep moving forward in my journey as an entrepreneur

Our self-developed AI technology is the pioneer in multilingual speech recognition and assessment worldwide. Our first product: The sylby app for German learners, integrates educational videos based on speech therapy with real-time AI feedback on their speech. As we expand to other languages such as Spanish and French, we're developing sylby API for speech-based language assessment for companies and organizations.
